Molson Cup Finalist-Champions
The coveted Molson Cup has been a motivational force for Molson Ball Hockey teams throughout the League’s 12+ years/20+ season history. It is one of our Provincial sport’s greatest challenges and ultimate honors to hoist the Molson Cup in victory.
The trophy is named after the league’s major sponsor throughout the years–MOLSON CANADIAN. The Trophy was donated by Paul Williams who took over the reigns of the league part way through the 2006 season when the league fell on ownership troubles.
The Molson Cup was first introduced and presented to then Champions Bonavista Cabot’s at the completion of the 2006 season. In 2010, the trophy’s base was changed to include three tiers of plaques, which feature the rosters of each of the last 20 Molson Cup Champions. There have been many great players who have hoisted the Molson Cup or at least competed for it including local NHLers – Teddy Purcell [Tampa Bay Lightning], Michael Ryder [Dallas Stars] & Adam Pardy [Dallas Stars].
